Resolved Question: Tom Petty's "free falling"

There is a rumor in Gainesville Fl (where Petty is from) that the song free falling is about a girl who jumped off the top of a dorm building at the University of Florida to her death in the 60's or 70's. Does anyone know if this is true, or who the girl was? or is this just a rumor in campus? I cant find anything online about it.... read more
